Our History

Sg3 Ministries is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2000 by Matthew Clark, a pastor/evangelist who has served at multiple churches through out his 28 years of ministry. Matthew has a passion for reaching out to youth and young adults through skateboarding, a sport that he loves and practiced since he was a teenager. He started Sheep’s Gate Ministries as a way to share the gospel and provide positive mentorship to skateboarders in the Phoenix metro area. He organized various outreaches and events at local skate parks, churches, and schools, where he distributed free skateboards, helmets, stickers, and Bibles. He also partnered with other ministries and organizations that shared his vision.

In 2009, Christina Clark joined Matthew as his Co-worker and then his wife in 2011. Christina brought her experience in retail and management to the ministry, as well as her enthusiasm for music and art. Together, they changed the name of the ministry to Sg3 Ministries, which is based off Nehemiah chapter 3 in the bible . They also expanded their scope of work to include international outreaches, such as the one they did in Limerick, Ireland in 2012, where they connected with local skateboarders, musicians and local ministry leaders.

In 2011, they moved to Prescott, Arizona, where they felt called to start a new chapter of their ministry. In 2013, they opened an indoor skate park / skate shop youth center, where they offered a safe and fun environment for youth and young adults to skate, hang out, learn new skills, and hear the gospel. They also hosted live music events, art workshops, Bible studies, and counseling sessions. The skate park / skate shop youth center was a success for two years.

 In 2023, they felt lead by God to launch a new project: Sg3 Mobile Skate Shop / outdoor music venue. Their goal is to provide skateboard products that promote a positive message for youth and young adults in Arizona by using their mobile skate shop and outdoor music venue. They plan to travel to different cities and towns in Arizona, where they will set up the mobile skate shop and outdoor music venue at public parks or other suitable locations. They will sell quality skateboards, accessories, clothing, and merchandise that feature uplifting designs and slogans. They will also invite local bands and artists to perform live music that showcases their talents and faith. Through this project, they hope to reach a much larger demographic of hurting youth and young adults who need hope and love.
